The Australian National Gallery of Victoria in Melburne celebrates the seventieth anniversary of the House of Dior, presenting an exhibition entitled “The House of Dior: Seventy Years of Haute Couture”.
The exhibition will run from August 27th to November 7th 2017 and it will feature 140 garments from the house, paying homage to Christian Dior’s legacy and its fundamental role in the development of contemporary fashion industry.
All the pieces exposed at the National Gallery of Victoria are designed from 1947 to 2017, so the exhibition presents the entire evolution of maison Dior from Christian Dior creations to Marc Bohan, Gianfranco Ferré, John Galliano, Raf Simons and Maria Grazia Chiuri designs.
About “The House of Dior: Seventy Years of Haute Couture” Exhibition chief executive of Christian Dior Couture, Sidney Toledano said:
“The exhibition will focus on ‘the silhouette, the flowers, the opulence, the New Look ... This will be Dior as if one has been transported to the world of 30 Avenue Montaigne, experiencing the mansion from the ateliers to the salons."
